Alfred Nobel invented dynamite but after a French paper called him "the merchant of death", the chemist got a guilty conscience and tried to undo the harm he had done by overcompensating with the creation of the Nobel Peace Prize. Since then, men of delicate constitutions have abandoned their ideals in the face of getting bad press. A list of these men follows:
